Working on a generic ruined outpost to help me get the feel of what I want to build for my goblin fortress. I started it yesterday after a late lunch. I don't generally like to use the white expanded foam but I got a lot of it on my hands.
Not anything special but as I said earlier, it's really just to help me visualize how and what to build for my goblin fortress.

very nice. I might have to plagiarize your idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you use for the base? I'm still trying to find a decent base material that is sturdy enough for larger pieces but doesn't require specialized cutting tools...
The base is made of a couple of styrofoam meat trays. If you look closely you can see where I joined them. I plan to fill the spaces with debris and wall filler.
DeleteI did a similar job a while ago. I'd recommend to wet the top of the earthworks and add plaster powder on it. It will texture the top and help hiding the bubbles.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments Rob and El Zorro. I haven't yet decided if its gonna be earth or stone but I do agree with your idea. Those bubbles do look tacky.
Deletestucco-textured spackle works well too
